Jennifer Rose

Senior Communications Dispatcher

Jennifer joined the 9-1-1 Team in April 2006. Since then, she has served as a Communications Dispatcher I, II, III, Certified Training Officer, and Senior Dispatcher. Jennifer has grown and excelled as a Senior Dispatcher and Quality Improvement Coordinator with the Support Services Division. She provides exemplary public service by mentoring and teaching her fellow dispatchers and has also developed training for Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD), Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD), and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) protocols. She has become the subject matter expert (SME) in all aspects involving protocols that provide 9-1-1 callers with lifesaving information. She demonstrates leadership by encouraging fellow dispatchers to continually give the citizens the best quality service when dialing 9-1-1. Jennifer provides protocol support and guidance to each dispatcher so they may strengthen their customer service through empathy, compassion, and repetitive persistence. In turn, they gain much-needed information protecting citizens and first responders. 

Jennifer also exemplifies excellence as a Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team member and is always available to respond and support her fellow dispatchers when they are in need. She has responded on and off duty over the years in support of various incidents. Jennifer also regularly provides the services of her canine crisis comfort dog Lady after significant or high-priority incidents. A visit from Lady always brings a smile to many during a stressful time. It provides dispatchers with the support they need when dealing with a critical incident in support of the community.

Jennifer is a dedicated employee, is passionate about public safety, and strives to make the environment around her positive and efficient. She is very good at prioritizing, managing multiple projects, and meeting deadlines. Jennifer thrives as one of the EMS Liaisons and is also very engaged in Active Shooter Training.

Recognizing Jennifer as this year’s Employee Excellence Award recipient is a fitting tribute to her contributions to the county’s mission, values, and goals.
